I want to start a small catering business from my home and I have an indoor cat. Is it possible to cater from your home if you have a cat or dog? Please only answer the question I asked, I am not looking for any smart comments because this is a serious question.

So long as your pets don’t get in the way of your line your work.

in the state of TX (i only know here specifically) you cannot cook for a business in your home unless it is a section of the home that has no access to any part of the house used for living, so, you could turn your garage into a commercial kitchen, block off the doorway to the home and only acess it from a separate door to the outside only, like you have to leave your house, go outside and then re-enter your house. This is only one of the rules texans have to follow in order to have an at home catering bussiness (commercial) kitchen. Its usually the one that stops them from doing it, but it is not impossible. It could be different where you live, I worked for the State of Texas Department of Health, Bureau of Food and Drug regulation, Licensing Department, SO, check with your city, county, or state’s health department, rules and regulations should be clearly posted
Good luck!

The best advice would be to check with your local ORDINANCES in your city and / or state, because different cities have different guidelines and ordinances.
